About Bob
When he was 12 years old, Bob Goodyear was given the assignment to write a report on a job that he wanted to have after he finished school. After looking at more than 40 different jobs in the school library, he came across a book about computer programmers. As he read the book, he found that a computer was a machine and a programmer told the machine what to do. He had found his dream job! He could work with a machine and not people!! That was his first clue that he is an introvert.
Bob has worked in the high tech world for more than 30 years. During that time, he has grown from being a programmer who sits alone writing programming code all day to being an instructor, sales engineer, and product manager speaking all over the world.
In his various roles, he has spoken in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, India and Korea. He has spoken to groups ranging in size from 5 to 2000. He has spoken at various high tech conferences such as:
Symantec Vision
HP Technology Forum
Veritas Vision
Advanced Control Systems Users Conference
Symantec Tech Days
HP World
At the core he is still an introvert and he uses that to his advantage. Part of what he does is help introverts see how to use those strengths in the extroverted world. He also help extroverts understand what introverts can bring to their organization. As a nationally recognized introvert, Bob uses his experience to help others understand how to capitalize on the strengths of the introvert.
